We love our job

Social media bumble bee and butterfly

And can you blame us?  Today we visited with an amazing new client of ours – Wholesale Girls/Little Girl Mart.  They are an online business here in Livingston, Montana that basically started out of one woman’s home and has now grown large enough to be housed in a warehouse on the outskirts of town.  Angela and I went to take some photos for their social media marketing and were in heaven!  Imagine rows and rows of fluffy tutus, butterfly wings in every color imaginable, flowers, feather boas, headbands, and on and on.  Naturally we had to test out the products ourselves and incredibly they even had wings that matched my sweater.  If I could get away with it I might wear wings like these with every outfit.

Halloween seems like the perfect excuse to sport a pair of wings so we have been racking our brains trying to figure out clever costumes for ourselves that include them.  Pretty much any compound word that has “fly” in it was on our list.  If you can figure out a way to work them into your Halloween costume let us know.  And send us a picture!

Social Media Reads

I just got back from a week-long vacation in New York City. The trip provided me with the opportunity to indulge in two activities that typically get pushed to the wayside when I’m at home in Livingston: eating ethnic food, and reading. I won’t divulge the details of just how much hummus I actually ate within a 7-day period, but I will give you some links to great articles about social media to cozy up to when you have a chance.

Facebook Sells Your Friends, in Bloomberg Businessweek. Selling your friends sounds scary, but it also opens the doors for a much more intimate experience with products, advertising and branding.

The Face of Facebook, in The New Yorker. A chance to listen to co-founder Mark Zuckerberg in the wake of the new movie exposé, “The Social Network.”

Small Change, in The New Yorker. Malcolm Gladwell’s take on the use of Twitter and Facebook for social activism.
